Welcome to Inglewood where the players play! Say hello to new restaurants, homes increasing in equity and more people are moving in.

Los Angeles is a major city with a population of 3.99 million residents. It is the second largest city in the United States right after New York City. Within L.A. are many sub-cities. Inglewood is one of them located near South LA, Culver City and Hawthorne, CA.

Inglewood, the city of champions is on the rise. We now have a $5 billion stadium for NFL teams, LA Rams and LA Chargers. It is officially known as the Sofi Stadium. The announcement of this facility was very exciting for many people.

With the upgrades come downfalls for some community members. Housing prices and rent for apartments have increased significantly. The high cost of rent will result in many residents relocating to other affordable nearby cities.

Small businesses are being bought out and replaced with more profitable businesses because of rent increase. The changes in Inglewood are great for the city to progress and attract more investors or tourists. However, some families, young adults and business that have been in this neighborhood for several years are concerned.

Housing policies have been put in place to protect residents with rent control. This will require landlords not to raise the rent for a particular amount of time. It is imperative for residents to stay informed with the news and alerts within their community.

I receive my news information from Fox, CNN, trending stories and Podcasts. I am confident many people in Inglewood get their news from similar outlets; television, radio and social media. The city of Inglewood is transforming rapidly. It is developing a better representation that gives the city an upgrade with new businesses, job opportunities, positive recognition and law enforcement to protect the neighborhood. I am very excited to experience these changes.

Go Rams and Chargers!
